Android engineer, SDK builder, multiplatform advocate.

I'm a Senior Android Engineer with 7+ years of experience and 29+ production apps, working mostly in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Most recently at Dario Health, I architected a Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform SDK that shares business logic, state, networking and UI across Android and iOS, and helped modernize a healthcare app with 1L+ (100,000+) downloads and active users.

Before that, at Samsung R&D Institute India, I built a new Android module from scratch for a confidential enterprise app, led a team of 5 engineers, trained 50+ engineers on MVVM and Data Binding, and worked on Galaxy Watch features. My first four years were at service-based companies, working on 29+ projects across healthcare, e-commerce, education, food, agriculture, gaming and social, often as the lead Android developer.

At Dario I also worked directly on the Dario Health Android app. I owned security for patient health data (field-level Firebase encryption, encrypted local storage, secure Amazon S3 media access, and root and emulator detection written in C/C++ with the Android NDK), built the GLP Screening flow (10+ screens), multilingual onboarding and consent flows, re-architected native Chat, and implemented WCAG 2.1 accessibility.

Earlier, in service-based companies, I shipped client apps such as Taleek, a language-learning app in 7 languages with 10L+ (1M+) downloads on Google Play.

I care about clean architecture, accessible UI and well-designed SDK APIs. I use AI tools every day, always with an engineer reviewing the output. Outside product work, I have maintained Octavi OS for the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, ported custom ROMs and patched kernels for the Micromax A102.

  • 7+Years in Android
  • 10L+Downloads on Taleek, a language-learning app I worked on
  • 29+Production apps worked on
  • 50+Engineers trained at Samsung

How I work

  • Build for change

Good architecture makes future decisions cheaper. I keep clear module boundaries and isolate dependencies.

  • Share without compromise

Multiplatform shouldn't mean lowest common denominator. Share logic and UI where it helps, keep platform behaviour where it matters.

  • SDKs are products

Other engineers are the customers. API design and developer experience decide whether an SDK gets adopted.

  • Accessibility by default

Semantics, focus order, touch targets and font scaling are planned from the start, not patched in later.

  • AI as a multiplier

AI drafts and speeds up the boring parts. An engineer reviews and owns every line that ships.

  • Teach what you know

From training 50+ engineers at Samsung to code reviews every day, sharing knowledge makes the whole team faster.

Where I've worked.

Senior Software Engineer @ Dario Health

    Dario Health Android app

    • Worked on the flagship Dario Health Android app on Google Play (opens in a new tab), a healthcare app with 1L+ (100,000+) downloads and active users.
    • Owned security for patient health information (PHI): field-level Firebase encryption, encrypted local storage and secure Amazon S3 media access.
    • Wrote root and emulator detection in C/C++ with the Android NDK, so the app could block use on compromised devices.
    • Built the GLP Screening flow (10+ screens) for the GLP-1 program, plus multilingual onboarding and consent flows.
    • Re-architected the native Chat feature.
    • Accessibility to WCAG 2.1: Compose Semantics, TalkBack, VoiceOver, focus order, touch targets and dynamic font scaling.
    • Modernized legacy parts of the app toward Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Clean Architecture and modular features.
    • Built native Android modules and bridges for React Native host apps.
    • Took part in architecture and design reviews, PR reviews, and performance and stability work in Agile/Scrum sprints.

    Dario Journey SDK (Kotlin Multiplatform)

    • Architected a Kotlin Multiplatform + Compose Multiplatform SDK for Android and iOS, sharing business logic, state, networking and UI, built with Ktor, SQLDelight and Koin.
    • Designed the SDK: DSL configuration API, core journey engine, MVI state layer, Compose renderers, design system and platform abstractions (media, analytics, image loading, deep links, auth).
    • Shaped the public API so host apps, native or React Native, could plug in their own media, analytics, image loading, deep links and authentication.
    • Built the Discover module in Compose Multiplatform (MVI/UDF, Coroutines, Flow), shipped on Android and iOS from one codebase.

    AI-assisted engineering

    • Contributed to an internal AI developer agent that turns PRDs and codebase context into technical approaches, Confluence docs and Jira tasks, always reviewed by engineers.
    • Daily AI-assisted development with Cursor, Claude, Claude Code, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Codex and MCP, with every change reviewed before it ships.

Engineer @ Samsung R&D Institute India

    • Built a new Android module from scratch for a confidential enterprise app using Kotlin, Android SDK, MVVM, Data Binding and Jetpack, delivered within sprint timelines.
    • Led a team of 5 engineers: broke features into Jira tickets, assigned work, ran sprint execution and coordinated technical decisions.
    • Designed and ran MVVM and Data Binding training for 50+ engineers, from freshers to managers, supporting the move away from legacy MVC code.
    • Developed Galaxy Watch Contacts features, including the Emergency Contacts logic and wearable UI/UX.
    • Improved touch targets and interaction behaviour for small wearable screens, with accessibility in mind.
    • Kept code quality high through peer code reviews and SonarQube, and fixed lifecycle and production issues.

    • Lead Android developer on KOSO, Offleash'd, Subsational and Storywise (Pencils of Promise); enhancement, maintenance and UI design on others.
    • Delivered 6+ major apps in my longest role, 5+ apps in my first role, and 3+ apps (2 of them independently) in a remote team of 5+.
    • Owned features from client requirements and technical specifications through implementation, Play Store release and production support with Firebase Crashlytics.
    • Kotlin, Java, MVVM, MVP, Retrofit, REST, Room, Hilt, Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack DataStore and Data Binding.
    • Payments (Razorpay, Stripe, Braintree, Google Pay), social login, FCM, Google Maps, Twilio and offline sync.

Kotlin Multiplatform + Compose Multiplatform SDK

A shared SDK for Android and iOS. Kotlin Multiplatform shares the business logic, state and networking, and Compose Multiplatform shares the UI. Host apps configure it through a Kotlin DSL; a core journey engine drives the flow, an MVI state layer owns the state, and Compose renderers draw it with a shared design system.

Decision record

Why Compose Multiplatform for the SDK?

Context
Healthcare modules needed the same UI and behaviour on Android and iOS.
Decision
Use Compose Multiplatform for the UI layer, with Kotlin Multiplatform for logic, while keeping native host apps.
Trade-off
More setup complexity up front, in exchange for one codebase to maintain.

Decision record

Moving from MVVM to MVI

Context
SDK modules with many screens and states that had to match across platforms.
Decision
MVI with unidirectional data flow and a single state per screen.
Trade-off
More boilerplate, in exchange for predictable state and easier debugging.
